About Niklaus B. Orosco

  • Niklaus B. Orosco (Nik) is a trial-tested associate attorney at the Austin Hagee Law Firm who has stood on both sides of the courtroom. Before joining the firm, Nik served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. There he tried cases, focusing on family violence and DWI cases. He knows how the State builds their cases, and he knows how to find their weaknesses.
  • As a prosecutor, Nik analyzed cases, negotiated resolutions, worked directly with complaining witnesses, and litigated motions before the court. That experience gives our clients a lawyer who understands how prosecutors think and what it takes to protect a client’s rights at every stage, from the first negotiation to a jury verdict.
  • Nik began his career at the Bexar County DA’s Office as a law clerk in the Appellate Division, where he wrote full appellate briefs in criminal matters and parental-rights terminations. Nik researched active cases for the Criminal Trial Division, which gives him the ability to spot legal issues that could change the outcome of a case.
  • Nik graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Incarnate Word with a B.A. in Psychology with a Neuroscience concentration and minors in Biology and English. He went on to earn his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he served as Managing Executive Editor of The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice. He oversaw the editorial board and guided each published volume through final edits. He mentored first-year law students through the SM1LE Program and served as a teaching assistant in the First-Generation Professionals Bootcamp, reviewing case briefs and coaching incoming students. He also interned in chambers for U.S. District Judge Jason Pulliam in the Western District of Texas, gaining valuable insight into federal practice from the bench.
  • Clients facing criminal charges are often at the most stressful moment of their lives. Nik pairs his courtroom experience with a steady, clear-spoken approach, so clients always know where their case stands and what comes next. His work ethic and knowledge of how the system operates from the inside complement his commitment to fighting for his clients, which makes him a great asset to the Austin Hagee Law Firm team.
  • Outside the office, Nik enjoys golfing with his wife, rooting for the New York Jets, and volunteering with San Antonio Pets Alive.
